Clothing Line Broccoli City Saving You from becoming a HATER!

THE REMIX:  Nearly six years ago, Brandon McEachern set out to become Hollywood’s next big thing.  “I moved to Los Angeles [in 2006] to become an actor.  That lasted all of three days.  I just saw how everyone wanted to be drafted.”  My thing was how is it possible for me to get into the entertainment industry without anyone telling me I’m too short.  I’m too dark, etc.?”  The reality of a dream lost birthed the idea of a new one. Thanks to the suggestion of a close friend McEachern instead decided to turn his misfortune into the clothing line Broccoli City.  “I thought about it.  I said, damn!  That’s something that’s not bias.”

Broccoli City boasts several stylish tees and hats, but McEachern says his growing clothing line is more about a sense of style.  “Broccoli City is about confidence.  It’s a self-confidence and self-esteem thing.  It’s more about mental health than anything.  Be happy with who you are.”

It was his own realization of being content with where he’s from that gave him his line’s name. “In North Carolina, especially where I’m from [which is] Greensboro, the search for identity is very vast.  The first thing dudes want to say when they meet somebody is that they’re from New York.  It seems to be more appealing I suppose.  When I was younger, I use to take trips to New York a lot.  Cats would ask me where I was from.  I would tell them Greensboro.  Once, I don’t know where it came from, I told someone I was from Broccoli City (laughing).  People started asking where it was.  I would tell them North Carolina.  So, the whole thing just started off with me having pride in my city.  Greensboro is actually Broccoli City.  The ‘green’ of course with the broccoli, and the ‘boro’ being the city.”

In the year since its creation, Broccoli City continues to spread amongst the masses.  Earlier this year, McEachern and his line were featured in “The Huffington Post.”  As he moves forward with spreading the news of the green lifestyle amongst those in the urban community and beyond, he’s hoping to potentially save you from your own potential ill will.  “I just want people to be themselves.  That’s what Broccoli City is all about.  Be satisfied with your tennis shoes, your clothes and the girl that likes you.  Stop trying to pull the Nia Longs, when your Nia Long could be right beside you.  But, you’re so focused on what other people are doing, and what you don’t have that you’ll become a hater.  Broccoli City is trying to save you from becoming a HATER!”
